Kratom has over 40 known alkaloids that are responsible for its pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory benefits. Two well-known pain-relieving alkaloids contained within the plant are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. They are known to be partial opioid agonists (activators).
